- ANSWER THE PROMPT! Don’t stray away from the real question.
- Choose examples that support your cause.
Don’t choose ones that you have to spin — after all, you only have 40 minutes to write.
Dont’s
- Don’t summarize the prompt as part of your thesis statement.
- Don’t “plop” your quotes into random section.
- Abrupt transitions are a no-no.
- Don’t stray away from the sources.
- Don’t write just to fill space.
